Central Otago Pinot Noirs are becoming world famous as brilliant examples of the potential of the elusive perfumed Pinot Noir grape when grown in areas of complementary terroir. Like Burgundy - cool climate, inland sites are required, close to the 45th parallel to ensure a long slow ripening period. Pinot Noir quality is very yield sensitive and Central Otago Pinot Noirs are no exception to that rule. The Rabbit Ranch Pinot Noir is made in a very soft, fruit forward, low tannin style - a wine to be savoured and supped, rather than an assault on the senses.

Juicy and fragrant, with impressive depth to wild berry, pomegranate and spice flavors wrapped around a solid core of gravel and sea salt. Cedar and sandalwood linger with fine-grained tannins.

Wine Enthusiast
This medium-bodied Pinot Noir features aromas of smoke and candied fruit, then adds some mushroomy flavors and plummy notes on the palate. It's a pleasant enough wine, one that would nicely accompany coq au vin or similar stewed dishes.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
