2006 Guiraud-Cheval-Blanc
This has to be one of the best bargains from Bordeaux. The blend, predominately Merlot, with a small percentage of Cabernet and Cabernet Franc; a wonderful bouquet of olives and black fruits and a velvety finish. A value packed Bordeaux.

2008 Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) Reserve Speciale Bordeaux
Intense color with hints of violet. Nose is dominated by fresh fruit aromas of redcurrant and raspberry. A balanced, open wine with good flavor, a nice fruity “bite” on the palate and good freshness on the finish.

2005 Haut-Piquat
A nice dark purple color, bright and clear. A delicate nose slightly woody with hints of red fruits. A round attack for an harmonious wine, with a good persistence. 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc.

2008 Croix-Mouton
Parker 90 pts: "One of the estates owned by Jean-Philippe Janoueix, this consistently well-made Bordeaux Superieur was fashioned from low yields of 27 hectoliters per hectare. Its opaque ruby/purple hue is accompanied by sweet aromas of graphite, charcoal, blackberries, and blue fruits. A blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc, it exhibits a beautiful texture, medium to full body, and a long finish. Another sleeper of the vintage."

1999 Simard
The name of Chateau Simard is an ancient one. It has been in use since the 17th century when the Simard family were listed among the Bourgeois of Saint Emilion.
This is a much sought after wine whose finesse and suppleness are due to the combination of sandy, gravelly soils with rigorous grape selection and very careful winemaking. 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.

2006 Lalande-Borie
Owned by Bruno Borie of Ducru-Beaucaillou. Balanced, refreshing, elegant and bright. Sweet berries and flowers on the nose. Lots of raspberries. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and good acidity.
65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
