Domaine Matrot
Very low production because of hail and shatter, a 50% crop loss. The domaine was obligated to purchase wine to meet demand. A floral, butter nose with some evidence of new wood. Very malic and appley, decent body for the appellation. Some pear and sour grapefruit with a mineral, stony finish. The grapes for this Chardonnay are picked near the appellation of Meursault. It is fruity and round and can be enjoyed as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to charcuterie, chicken and grilled fish. A great wine to enjoy with friends.
