Alfredo Bertolani Description
The Bertolani winery was established in Scandiano in 1925 by Alfredo Bertolani, supported by his passion for grapes and by the knowledge of this territory from his background as a grape broker. Today, the winery remains family-owned by the fourth generation, and their respect of the area's terroir and careful wine making processes produce Lambrusco of great quality.
Vinous: 91 Points
Deep pink-red. Very intense strawberry and raspberry aromas are lifted by white pepper, violet and botanical herbs. Comes across as almost light after the other richer, more grapey lambruscos from Bertolani, with lovely energy and breed to the savory flavors of red berries, spices and flowers. Sharply delineated, but with an enticing creamy sweetness that makes this come across as off-dry. Finish with lovely length and real style. Great stuff.
James Suckling: 90 Points
Aromas of canned strawberries with a typical briary note. Medium-bodied with a compact fizz and tart red-berry flavors. Good and refreshing. Drink now, well-chilled.
