Fresh and tightly structured, this wine has intense, ripe fruitiness as well as more open white-fruit flavors. Its tight texture and tangy crispness need a few months to soften.
Anthony Girard Description
La Clef du Récit is situated in Vinon, 7 kilometers south of Sancerre. The estate was taken over in 2012 by Anthony Girard, a dynamic young winemaker, after having the opportunity to purchase 8.5 hectares of first class vineyards near the small village of Récy (hence the name) in the southern part of the appellation. Today, the estate covers 16 hectares and produces Sancerre, Menetou-Salon, and Quincy appellations, with the utmost respect to the vine and the soils to find the balance reflecting the local terroir.
