Beautiful dark purple color. The finely oaked nose is enhanced by aromas of ripe redcurrant, cranberry, cedar and black pepper. The attack is full-bodied. The mid-palate is full and silky. The tannic expression asserts itself on the finish, which is dense and long.
41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 53% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Carmenere
Chateau Brane-Cantenac Description
The dry winter was marked by a lack of rainfall. Spring saw excesses between mild temperatures and severe frosts in April. Flowering was ideal in warm, dry conditions, veraison evenly distributed and the cool summer enabled us to maintain good acidity. Our best plots located on the Brane plateau and on the Carabin area were spared from frost and benefited from favorable conditions from all points of view.
James Suckling: 90 Points
A very refined nose with redcurrants, red flowers and a complex mix of light, fresh earth and tobacco leaf. The palate delivers a bright, fresh impression with fine, lively tannins casting a very vibrant and succulent, red-fruit finish. A blend of 53% merlot, 41% cabernet sauvignon, 5% cabernet franc and 1% carmenere. Second wine of Chateau Brane-Cantenac. Drink or hold.
