Editors' Choice
This is a rich wine with generous tannins and dense black-plum fruits. A hint of dark chocolate gives the wine its rich texture and edge of extraction that will not detract from the delicious ripe fruitiness and potential. Drink from 2023.
James Suckling: 92 Points
Very classic Haut-Médoc with tons of blackcurrants and blackberries. Yet there’s rather classic balance with elegant, moderately dry tannins and a long, clean finish. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot. Drink or hold.
Vinous: 91 Points
The 2016 Cambon La Pelouse has a classic, nicely detailed bouquet with blackberry, briary, autumn leaves and cedar aromas that gently unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very harmonious and cohesive with supremely well judged acidity that lends the finish a silky smooth, gently grippy finish that bodes well for the future. Excellent.
Wine Advocate: 90 Points
The 2016 Cambon la Pelouse felt a little disjointed on the nose with quite strong undergrowth aromas percolating through the black fruit. The palate is balanced with stringy tannin, moderate depth with a precise and detailed finish.
