Château Tour Saint Christophe is located in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes at the frontiers of Saint- Émilion. The vineyard is a unique feature in Saint-Emilion, as it is partly planted on narrow terraces where the vineyard is tended in tight rows. This cascading landscape unfolds on the hillside of Cassevert overlooking the Saint Laurent valley. Château Tour Saint Christophe was acquired by Peter Kwok and his daughter Karen in 2012. The property overlooks beautiful centuries-old dry stone terraces on a clay-limestone terroir. In order to preserve its rich heritage, Peter undertook to restore the Château. The objective was to revive the vineyard terraces with the reconstruction of dry stone walls as it had been built in the 18th century. About 1.5 km of dry-stone terraces have been repaired by hand, a two-year process to preserve the appearance of these unique terraces in Saint-Emilion. The vineyard, with vines of an average age of thirty years, is orientated South-Southwest and benefits from an ideal exposure to sun and perfect natural drainage conditions. It is this secret alchemy which contributes to the quality of our terroir.
80% Merlot, 20 % Cabernet Franc
Chateau Tour Saint Christophe Description
Minerality and tension define Tour Saint Christophe 2022, with aromas of blackberries, liquorice, iodne and crushed stone. A feshy texture with incredible freshness, wrapping precise tannins. A long and saline finish.
James Suckling: 96 Points
A very good year for Tour Saint Christophe, showing great depth and flavor despite high alcohol. Abundant dark minerals, fresh blackberries, black olives and a hint of cocoa powder. Pretty full-bodied and firm with crunchy, reactive tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Lots of density here.
Jeb Dunnuck: 96 Points
Spice-laden red and black fruits, leafy tobacco, savory flowers, and new leather notes all shine in the 2022 Château Tour Saint Christophe, another brilliant wine from this team. I love its complexity, and it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with fine tannins, a layered, elegant mouthfeel, beautifully integrated oak, and a great finish. Based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc brought up in 25% new French oak, give bottles 3-5 vears if you can and enjoy over the following 15+
Vinous: 94 Points
The 2022 Tour Saint Christophe is every bit as impressive as it was from barrel. Rich, ample and quite potent, the 2022 is wonderfully deep and fleshy right out of the gate. A blast of dark red cherry, spice, menthol and blood orange builds as the Tour Saint Christophe gains volume and stature with time in the glass.
Decanter: 94 Points
Concentrated dark fruit and liquorice notes on the nose - smells ripe and expressive. Lovely purity of fruit, really clean and precise in terms of flavour and texture - tannins are sleek and really drive the wine from start to finish. Feels well proportioned, not too light or too heavy but with sinewy muscle and an undertone of cool blue fruit, crushed stones and hints of espresso. The 15% alcohol is barely noticeable and this is very charming in a rich, almost plush, heady way.
Wine Advocate: 93 Points
This first vintage under the denomination of Grand Cru Classé, the 2022 Tour Saint Christophe is excellent, offering up aromas of spices, cassis, dark wild berries, orange peel and licorice mingled with delicate oaky notes. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, it's layered and textured and framed by powdery, velvety tannins enhanced by a racy, pure, fresh finish. It should gain raciness with some time in the cellar.

Cellar Selection
This blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc shows richness and sophistication. Planted on terraces at the eastern limit of Saint-Émilion, the wine shows a vanilla aroma from wood aging and concentrated black fruits.
