This wine shows a pronounced bouquet of very ripe red and yellow fruits, with exotic and slightly spicy notes, with well-integrated acidity. The slatey minerality so typical of the Mosel adds further complexity.

Weingut Wwe. Dr. Hugo Thanisch, Erben Thanisch, led by Sofia Thanisch, has a long tradition. It is documented that the wine estate dates back to 1636 and includes eleven generations. Today, our Thanisch VDP wine estate is a family business in the eleventh generation. Our vineyards are located in Bernkastel, Kues, Lieser, and Brauneberg and are exclusively planted with Riesling. The most famous site is Berncasteler Doctor, which, along with many other vineyards, includes parcels that we have owned for 200 years, or 7 generations.

The 2024 Riesling Bernkasteler Badstube Kabinett has lovely, slaty smokiness ont eh nose that relents into herb-fringed lemon, imagine lemon balm and even chervil. The palate is a cooling, refreshing pleasure of citric brightness, once again brightened by herbs. This is a quintessential summer wine, exquisitely cool and beautifully balanced with a tender sweetness and such verve that make it so animating.
