Giacosa Fratelli - Barolo Bussia 2016 (750ml)
From ruby red in color, it changes, with age, to garnet red. Ample and persistent bouquet, flowery with hints of rose, complex even up to leather and tar. Dry, full-bodied, well proportioned, and even velvety.
Giacosa Fratelli Description
Grown in vineyards in the subarea of Bussia in Monforte d’Alba. The balance between the clayey and calcareous elements in the soil, the high presence of magnesium and microelements, the temperature ranges of the altitude and location of the valley mouth favor the essentials, in these grapes, of particular fruity notes.
Wine Advocate: 93 Points
The 2016 Barolo Bussia offers a dark and savory bouquet with aromas of black currant and cassis with tar, smoke and licorice. There is a lot of dark spice that adds contouring and definition to the concentrated fruit found at the heart of this wine.
Wine Enthusiast: 90 Points
Rose-petal, new leather and underbrush aromas emerge from the glass. The full-bodied palate offers black cherry, licorice and clove alongside firm tannins.
