Hall Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet in color, and opens with aromas of pure dark fruit with a slight grilled herb note. The palate is powerful and dark fruited, concentrated and dense with plenty of structured tannins supported by French oak resulting in an integrated and complex finish.
Hall Description
This wine incorporates choice fruit from vineyards throughout Napa Valley - from small rugged hillside sites of our partner growers to each of our estate vineyards. By blending these various lots, we create a rich panorama on the palate, a landscape of complexity and character that clearly depicts Napa Valley.
Wine Advocate: 95 Points
As for those in bottle, my favorite is the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa. Most of this comes from the Sacrashe Vineyard as well. A dense, full-bodied wine with lots of creme de cassis, charcoal, licorice and forest floor, the wine is opulent and already delicious and powerful. It should continue to drink well for at least 12-15+ years.
Vinous: 92 Points
Bright ruby-red. Currant, bitter chocolate and seductive oak on the nose, complicated by loamy soil tones. Sweet, pliant and fine-grained, with cassis, espresso and mocha flavors that come across as higher-pitched than those of the basic Napa Valley bottling. At once sweet and nicely delineated; this really fills the mouth. This very firmly built cabernet finishes with superb mouth-dusting tannins and excellent length.
Wine Spectator: 91 Points
Rich, with loamy earth, currant, black licorice and subtle cedar touches that build depth and complexity.
James Suckling: 90 Points
Pure and fruity with pretty currant and blueberry aromas and just a hint of sandalwood. Full body, with a round and velvety texture and a long finish.
