Another classic Honig Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon expressing a lovely combination of black raspberry and cherry enhanced by savory notes and exotic spices (think Garam masala) and cocoa nibs. The texture is rich, framed by just the right amount of tannin and acid, giving a sense of perfect balance.
Honig Description
The fruit for this wine comes from both our sustainably farmed vineyard in Rutherford, and from local vineyards. Each vineyard block was harvested and made into an individual lot representing that block. The wines were pressed off the skins from 10 to 30 days after crushing.
James Suckling: 91 Points
Attractive nose of blackberries, kirsch and hints of dried flowers and walnuts. Full and well-structured with ripe yet lightly chewy tannins and deep, succulent fruit underneath. Intense, bitter-spice finish.
Wine Advocate: 90 Points
Honig's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon delivers notes of cedar, loam, black cherries and dried spices. Matured in a combination of French and American oak, it's full-bodied, silky-velvety in texture and softly tannic, with ample length and texture on the finish, which reveals a subtle hint of raisined fruit. Don't expect it to age much past a decade from the vintage, so enjoy this fine value while it's young.
