Jadot - Chablis Blanchot Grand Cru 2018 (750ml)
Dramatic and bold, this full-bodied white wine has both density and bracing acidity. Aromas of earth and citrus peel are present in the broad, expansive texture while saline notes dominate the long finish.
Jadot Description
Blanchots is one of the 7 Chablis vineyards collectively identified as Grand Cru. This is a steep East-facing slope with stony soils producing wines with a firm structure and concentrated citrus flavors.
Vinous: 93 Points
The 2018 Chablis Blanchot Grand Cru, aged for 15 months on the lees, has a little more race and tension compared to the Les Clos, more Chablis character. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, and more saline than the Les Clos, with fresh, marine-tinged finish and a touch of sour lemon and quince on the aftertaste. Excellent.
Burghound: 93 Points
Exceptionally subtle wood influence easily allows the cool and very pure aromas of essence of green apple, pear, quinine and sea breeze to be appreciated. There is lovely intensity and vibrancy to the chiseled and attractively textured middle weight flavors that exude evident minerality on the focused and dry finish where the only reproach is a touch of warmth. This is already appealing and should only become more so with 6 to 10 years of aging.
