Bottled since 1994. Located in the southwestern reaches of Napa County, where a rare mix of volcanic and marine sediment soils combine at the surface to make up the famed Block E where we’ve been since day one. Produces a Chardonnay of great depth, concentration and elegance; notable for its high pitched pure yellow orchard fruit, iodine and a beeswax-like savory character.
Kistler Description
Pale yellow. Vaulted perfumes of ripe juicy yellow and white orchard fruits, with its always iodine-like salinity and a savory beeswax character this year, something wild and natural yet collected. An inherent tone of deep textural richness permeates and drives the center, a viscosity, but well cut with lovely natural acidity and it strikes a very good balance. A poignant reflection of one of two best sites in Carneros and speaks so clearly to the soils and climes of Hudson.

So suave, full and layered, offering lush, ripe apple and pear flavors with toast, spice and cream accents. Full-bodied, nicely viscous in texture and saturated with quite generous, almost sweet tasting fruit and a touch of honey. Delicious and mouth-coating. Drink now or hold.

The 2023 Chardonnay Hudson Vineyard has slowly unfurling scents of saline and nori that give way to peach, orange peel and jasmine. The full-bodied palate has a luxuriously satiny texture and incredibly concentrated, perfumed flavors. Its generosity is balanced by energetic acidity, and it has a very long, dynamic finish.
