Full-bodied and ripe, Corton-Pougets exhibits a lovely leafy and woodsy top note supported by intense red berry fruit and hints of sweet oak. Tannic and chewy when young, after only a few years the texture becomes more rounded and supple, yet will continue to develop for several decades.

Louis Jadot Description
This superb vineyard is treasured in the Jadot range. Ideally situated on the hill of Corton, this parcel is planted to chardonnay in the upper portion and pinot noir in the lower where the wine is known as Corton-Pougets Grand Cru. Full, robust, and long-lived these wines are classicly traditional and reference fine Burgundy of years ago. Jadot is now the only producer of Corton-Pougets red.
Burghound: 93 Points
A wonderfully pure and equally cool nose grudgingly offers up its combination of red cherry, kirsch, crushed fennel, spice and a smoky hint. There is notably better volume and mid-palate density to the larger-bodied flavors that exude evident minerality on the tautly muscular, youthfully austere and more complex finale. As is usually the case, this is a combination of refinement and focused power that should age gracefully over the next 12 to 15 years.
Wine Advocate: 93 Points
Aromas of sweet red berries, plums, peonies and spices introduce the 2021 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, rich and ample wine with a deep core of fruit, sweet structuring tannins and a long, mouthwatering finish. This cuvée is always a strong suit chez Jadot, and this year is no exception.
Wine Spectator: 92 Points
Lushly textured yet fluid, displaying cherry, raspberry, floral, earth and sweet spice flavors. This is also dense, with refined tannins and bright acidity that keep this focused and long.
Vinous: 90 Points
The 2021 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru has a fleshy ripe red cherry and crushed strawberry-scented bouquet, perhaps picked a day or two later than its peers, though without the same degree of mineralité or delineation. The palate is balanced with slightly fleshier tannins and touches of something sweet like coconut infusing the red fruit. Very smooth, perhaps the oak is just a little too influential towards the finish, making it more polished than necessary.
