Domaine Louis Jadot
Louis Jadot Description
The Côte de Nuits is the northern of the two districts of the Côte d’Or. Le Vaucrain is a 8.75-acre vineyard in the village of Comblanchien, purchased by Louis Jadot in 1996; of this, 6.25 acres are planted with Pinot Noir and 1 hectare with Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir is fermented in vats and then matured in oak barrels.
Wine Advocate: 90 Points
Revisited from bottle, the 2017 Côte de Nuits-Villages Le Vaucrain (Domaine Louis Jadot) is showing very well, wafting from the glass with notes of cherries, plums and cassis mingled with hints of potpourri and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, velvety and energetic, with lively acids, refined tannins and a pretty core of fruit. This is a fine effort that really punches above its weight.
