With notes of Bosc pear, lemon zest, touches of pineapple, and subtle vanilla on the finish, the grapes for this little gem are sourced primarily from Russian River Valley, Santa Barbara County, and the western reaches of Mendocino County.
Established in 2003, this label includes multiple varietals produced by the Martin Ray Winery located in Graton in the Russian River Valley. Courtney Benham acquired the historic Martini & Pratt Winery in July 2003, which is now Martin Ray Winery. Angeline is an affordable varietal lineup including: Chardonnay, Pinot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc.
Angeline Vineyards Description
This Chardonnay has a delicious bouquet of ripe golden pear, tropical pineapple, and sweet honeydew melon, along with aromatic apple blossom, and creamy vanilla bean. The carefully chosen, lightly-impactful French oak serves to convey a perceived sweetness that is perfectly balanced by the clean acidity around the edges of the palate. Although deceivingly full-bodied, the wine maintains a juicy mouthfeel and a clean, concise finish.
James Suckling
Peaches, pears, melon rind, cooked lemons and cream on the nose. It’s full-bodied, soft and creamy. Easy finish.
