Chateau Belle Assise Coureau Description
Coming from a family property acquired in the 19th century by the Brun family, the Château Belle Assisi Coureau was taken over by a group of friends in 2013 under the impetus of Jean Pierre Beltoise, former great car runner and winner of the Monaco Grand Prix (F1) and Alain Garitey, Parisian lawyer from the region. It is Lionel Gallais who takes the direction of the castle and entrusts to Paul Junet, a young oenologist of Saint-Emilion, the task of expressing the superb potential of this beautiful terroir.
James Suckling: 92 Points
A earthy nose of mulberries, dark plums, walnuts, undergrowth, mocha and baking spices. Medium-to full-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Structured, creamy and polished. Rich, flavorful finish.
Wine Enthusiast: 90 Points
From vines on the plain below the town of Saint-Emilion, the wine is rich, chocolate and spice flavored. Behind the structure lie fresh black fruits and some solid tannins.
