Château Siran is the result of a subtle blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, which reflects the identity of its terroir. The relatively high percentage of petit verdot brings a spicy note that reinforces the unique character of Siran’s wines.
Both powerful and subtle, Siran’s wines always seek a balance between the softness of the tannins, the intensity of the fruit and a persistent freshness. Siran wines are known for their aging potential, even long aging that will delight the most patient.
53% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 11% Petit Verdot
Chateau Siran Description
After a cool 2021, 2022 was marked by extreme heat, with temperatures between 35 and 40°C, more typical of the Mediterranean. Our vines have adapted well, but the climate is undeniably changing. With only 650 mm of rainfall instead of the usual 950 mm, yields were among the lowest at just 35 hl/ha. Harvesting began early and rapid vinification produced a wine full of fruit, sweetness and freshness. Although the yield was low, the quality was exceptional. Will this be another legendary vintage, like 1982? Only time will tell.

Cellar Selection
Known for its unique labels, this one commemorates Queen Elizabeth II. This wine comes from an estate in the south of Margaux. It is rich, packed with black fruits and dense tannins. The wine has a licorice aroma, great fruitiness and good potential.
James Suckling: 94 Points
The lead-pencil and dark-berry aromas are very persuasive here, and aromatic! Medium to full body with juicy fruit, velvety tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Creamy and pretty.
Wine Spectator: 94 Points
Hibiscus and iris accents are infused liberally throughout a core of mulberry and blackberry puree in this version. Black tea and sanguine hints add range on the fleshy finish, which ends with a lovely sweet cedar echo. Textbook for the AOC and the vintage. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.
Vinous: 94 Points
The 2022 Siran is every bit as impressive in bottle as it was en primeur. Ample, rich and imposing, the 2022 has a lot to offer. A blast of dark-toned fruit, new leather, licorice and chocolate makes quite a statement. Siran is quite the extrovert. While it is not the most complex Margaux out there, its immediacy and charm are both notable.
Wine Advocate: 92 Points
Aromas of minty cassis, herbs and pencil shavings introduce the 2022 Siran, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and lively wine that's seamless and integrated. This is an especially strong effort for this estate.
