A wine of great finesse, distinguished and elegant. The colour is pure and bright, with light glints of white gold. The aromas evoke trees in bloom and white flesh fruit, like white peaches. With age, the aromas evolve towards almond and lightly grilled dried fruit. On the palate, there is a sensation of fresh silkiness. Long and persistent in the aftertaste, ending on an exceptional wealth of flavours, both floral and fruity.
Joseph Drouhin Description
Throughout the ageing process, decisions are taken only after careful tasting evaluation. The data obtained is completed through technical analysis. As with every other Joseph Drouhin wine, absolute priority is given to the true expression of terroir and character of the vintage.
James Suckling: 93 Points
Delicate and aromatic with fresh flowers and al dente apples, following through to a medium body with lovely depth and intensity. Tight and fresh at the end. Subtle. Drink now.
Burghound: 91 Points
Prominent floral aromas, especially acacia and carnation, add breadth to the nose of the essence of poached pear and just enough wood to notice. The sleek and refined middle weight flavors are more voluminous and richer, if less obviously mineral-inflected, while delivering fine length on the suave and sappy finish where the wood telegraphed by the nose resurfaces. While this should amply repay short to mid-term keeping, it could be enjoyed young too.
Vinous: 90 Points
The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Village, from purchased grapes, has a light, apple blossom-scented bouquet with just a touch of wet stone. The palate is crisp on the entry with pretty citrus fruit notes and a nicely detailed finish.
Wine Advocate: 90 Points
Aromas of white flowers, sweet stone fruit and vanilla pod introduce Drouhin's 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Village, a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy wine that's lively and charming.
