The Côte de Nuits is the northern of the two districts of the Côte d’Or. Le Vaucrain is a 8.75-acre vineyard in the village of Comblanchien, purchased by Louis Jadot in 1996; of this, 6.25 acres are planted with Pinot Noir and 1 hectare with Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir is fermented in vats and then matured in oak barrels.
Jadot’s village wines are grown on an extension of the slopes where the Premiers and Grands Crus are situated. Among the Côte de Nuits villages, Gevrey-Chambertin is the most renowned. Here, Pinot Noir has been refined to a pinnacle of expression. Nuits-Saint-Georges is the southernmost commune of the Côte de Nuits and produces some of its sturdiest and longest-lived wines. Other Louis Jadot village wines from the Côte de Nuits are: Marsannay (red and white) Fixin (white) Chambolle-Musigny (red) Vosne-Romanée (red) Côte de Nuits Villages (red and white)

Wine Enthusiast: 92 Points
Whispers of smoke and camphor mingle into black cherry and violet in this spicy, fleshy Pinot Noir. Full bodied and decadent in mouthfeel, it's packed with ripe, powerful blackberry and plum flavors edged with burnt caramel and shavings of peppercorn. This robust but freshly balanced wine is ready now
Wine Advocate: 91 Points
Always one of the finest value propositions in the range, the 2019 Côte de Nuits-Villages Le Vaucrain (Domaine Louis Jadot) is turning out very nicely once again, bursting with aromas of plums, warm spices and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, lively and elegant, it's charming and expressive, with a succulent core of fruit and powdery structuring tannins.
