Louis Jadot Description
Beaune Boucherottes is one of 36 Premier Cru vineyards in the Beaune appellation. The high number of Premiers Crus is accounted for by the situation of most of the Beaune vineyards on a slope, which gives them superior sun exposure. Beaune Boucherottes lies at the southern end of the commune, where it shares a border with Pommard. The deep clay soil of this 21-acre vineyard gives lushness to the wine, which is fermented in stainless steel, then matured in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months before bottling.
Wine Spectator: 92 Points
A vibrant, succulent style, this red is laced with pure cherry and raspberry fruit, sporting light accents of earth and mineral. Balanced, with a floral element emerging on the lingering aftertaste.
Wine Advocate: 91 Points
The 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Les Boucherottes (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) exhibits aromas of sweet berries, cherries, spices and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied and nicely concentrated, powdery tannins clamp down on the finish. I suspect it will round out with further élevage.
Burghound: 90 Points
There is a hint of exotic tea to the distinctly ripe but still reasonably fresh floral-scented nose of black cherry liqueur, spice and discreet earth nuances. The succulent, generously proportioned and suave medium weight flavors possess a lovely texture thanks to the abundance of sappy dry extract that mostly buffers the firm tannins shaping the bitter pit fruit-suffused finale. This delicious effort is very Beaune in style.
